this is probably the best/most authentic chinese restaurant in berkeley - my first-generation immigrant chinese parents come here every time they visit berkeley. great place to take family but also great place to dine with large groups in general at the circular tables (they take reservations). there's a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors. it gets pretty busy after 1 pm for the lunch rush though. they have a QR code at the tables to order online, but you can also order in person if you'd prefer that. the food is pretty spicy bc it's szechuan, but you can ask for spice adjustments/recommendations for non spicy food. i LOVE the sautéed sliced cumin lamb, probably one of the best chinese dishes i've had at any restaurant. green beans are always a classic as well. can't recommend this place enough! super close to campus as well.

One of my favorite go-to spots for lunch. Super close to campus with amazing, authentic Chinese food, large portions, and cheap prices. To be honest, the food itself probably isn't 5 stars and more 4 stars. However, I am bias. I love their options, portions, and price. Food is ready super quickly. It's a "lunch line" layout. You can choose 2 or 3 dishes alongside rice, fried rice, or noodles. There is also an option for a side of soup. I normally get a choose 3 lunch special combo - white rice with cabbage, pork belly, and something new. Again, flavors are flavoring and Chinese food is nostalgia-ing. I'm super full after. Often, I have some food for leftovers. See you soon Chengdu Style lunch special. Also, bring cash. It's cheaper with cash.

Went here with my parents and it was overall a great experience. The food came out fast and really liked the flavor of the Mongolian beef. A bit disappointed with the Sautéed String Beans as they were cooked differently than expected and the beans felt old as well. Overall the flavor was great, service was great, and I would highly recommend if you are looking for Chinese food in Berkeley.

Quick service and great selection! I was pleased to see some familiar menu items, but also appreciated the mix of more authentic dishes I haven't heard of before. The Beef w/ Broccoli was tasty and vegetables still crunchy despite being dunked with a flavorful gravy! The Spicy Chicken Wings were packed with flavor and heat, especially the onions and garlic cloves that were stir-fried on top. The Pork Fried Rice had a nice wok, stir-fried flavor and with decent meat portions. Orders are placed online by scanning a code on the table, but payment was standard with a bill the waiters will drop at the table. It's well in the city and by the Berkeley campus, so street parking may be hard to come by. Ambiance was good enough for the location, but I wouldn't say totally family-style. Can't wait to come back to try other dishes!

Great spot near berkeley, but we came on a hot summer day and there wasn't any AC. The cumin lamb were amazing and i loved all the peppers mixed in! It was the perfect combination of spice.

Came to Chengdu Style on Wednesday around noon and it was half filled with students. Most ppl come and order the plate meal from the counter, sorta like panda express assembly line. The interior was clean and bright. There is only street parking. I told the staff that i was ordering from the menu and she directed me to a table. I ordered the boiled fish fillet and the cheng du pork chops (it's more like chopped spare ribs). The boiled fish came in a large portion. There were plenty of fish fillets in the bowl. It was not as spicy as I expected. The boiled fish was delicious 5 out of 5. The ribs were okay since i had way better version of it before in Irvine and in Houston. The ribs were deep fried and then stir fried with spices. I rate the ribs 3.5 out of 5.

The most authentic Chinese food you can get in Berkeley. The food is good, but if you don't/can't appreciate oily food I would ask them for items that are less so. The pork dishes are absolutely incredible! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a new and interesting dining experience. Service is great, I went with my friend who's a regular and they treated us very well. Ambiance is campus casual.

I had a craving for Szechuan Chinese food and there's nothing like having food that will satisfy your cravings on a cold day like today. I ordered the spicy fish, rice, and pork dumpling soup to have while I watch a show and cozy up on this cold weather day. The fish was so crunchy and fragrant with Szechuan seasonings and it wasn't too spicy which I liked. The pork dumplings were so juicy and so succulent! Each bite bursted with so much juicy goodness. The soup was light and flavorful too. I would come here again!
